ANSWER TO READER QUESTION ABOUT YAQUI EARLY VOTING.
Kim will work with the Legislature to make voting fairer and more accessible. Let's Make Arizona SOAR!
Same-day Registration - Currently, voters have to be registered 29 days before an election to vote. With modern technology, this is an obsolete law. All 15 AZ counties connect to a real-time database. We now can do same-day registration while maintaining the integrity of the voting process.
Opt-out Registration - The majority of voter registrations come through the MVD. By changing the law to an automatically Opt-in system, voters wouldn't need to go through a separate registration process. An Opt-out registration process would make for cleaner voter roles, save time, and promote voter engagement.
All Ballot by Mail - All Vote-by-Mail (or Ballot-by-Mail) offers voters an easy and convenient option for voting. Vote-by-Mail also saves taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, is safer, and provides faster Election Day results. 80% of Pima County already chooses to Vote-by-Mail. The systems and accountabilities are already in-place.
Rights Restoration - When a previously incarcerated citizen has completed their prescribed sentence and paid their debt to society, voting rights should be reinstated immediately. There is no reason for our state to restrict voting rights from citizens who have taken the steps required to regain their rights and become members of the community.
